What to expect from a Tenerife winter, and how much spending money to budget in euros and pounds at today's rate.
While the UK shivers, Tenerife stays warm and bright. Here's what to expect from November to February, so you can pack (and budget) accordingly.
| Month | Daytime high | Sunshine | Wet days |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nov | 22°C | 7 hrs | 5 days |
| Dec | 21°C | 6 hrs | 6 days |
| Jan | 20°C | 6 hrs | 5 days |
| Feb | 19°C | 8 hrs | 5 days |
Tenerife earns its “island of eternal spring” reputation in winter. Daytime highs hover around 20–22°C from November to February, the south of the island stays bright and sheltered, and a UK flight lands you there in about four and a half hours.
It packs a lot into a short-haul budget: Teide's volcanic slopes, black-sand beaches, big all-inclusive resorts in Costa Adeje and lively harbour towns. Eating out and getting around are cheap by winter-sun standards, so your euros stretch further than they would almost anywhere long-haul.
